Phoenix Plaza by Denis McCauley (Tenui)

Programs: Sterlingware, Vue d'Esprit, L-System (+ Fractal Explorer, Xaos, The Gimp for textures)

The statue was created by height-mapping a Sterlingware phoenix fractal in Vue d'Esprit. The vegetation was created from L-System fractals, with textures created from Fractal Explorer and Xaos images. I used The Gimp to create tiles from the original fractal images then used the tiles to created "materials", as they're called in Vue d'Esprit. The L-system objects are in fact groups of objects; l-system files quickly become too large to import into 3d programs, so I used fairly simple forms and some mutations on these to create the groups.
