Over 700 entrees were received for the 3rd Annual Fractal Contest from artists all over the world. The selection process was long and delicate. At the end 180 works were selected as nominees for the AFC3 contest. Out of these 180 works 28 works were chosen as prize winners (compared to 32 winners in all categories in AFC2) that were created by 24 artists.
Due to space considerations was not possible this year to display all nominated works, thus we had to limit the permanent contest display to the 91 nominated works of the winner artists. I am sure that you will enjoy this unique top quality display of best fractal pictures. The AFC3 statistics as are shown in the table below were drawn from the nominated works of the best fractal artists from all over the world:
For the first time ever FE has won the first place with a big advantage of 40%. Following second place is UF (25%) and in third place though far behind stand the KPT5 FraXplorer filters(7%), Following suit is the new Apophysis (5.5%) and closing the line are 2 old favorites by Steve - Sterlingware and TZ. All other programs are just used randomly with no statistical significance. Again my thanks to all fractal artists who made this event happen :) So, till next year...
